Scholarships

The Tiger Preschool program is dedicated to supporting families through School Readiness and Pathways II scholarships. Please be aware that these scholarships will be offered exclusively for half-day placements within our program. To have your scholarship considered, please ensure you are registered for a half-day class in Arux.

Tiger Preschool operates as a tuition-based program. Please note that if you choose to apply, you will be responsible for paying the registration fee, field trip fee, and full tuition rate until your scholarship application has been reviewed and approved. All required paperwork for scholarship applications must be completed and submitted by the applicant.

Tiger Preschool is a tuition-based program and does not currently qualify for funding for Voluntary PreK or School Readiness Plus.

There are three types of scholarships available for eligible Tiger Preschool children and families. Below you will find a description of each, as well as information regarding eligibility and how to apply.

All scholarships received prior to July 1st will be reviewed in the order they were received. We will begin awarding scholarships at that time. We will continue to accept scholarship applications after this point. Scholarships will be awarded if funds are available.

Pathways I

Pathway I scholarships are awarded directly to families who meet eligibility requirements. Pathway I scholarship funds are paid to the early childhood program that the family chooses. You may use your Pathway I Early Learning Scholarship at any eligible child care or early education program in Minnesota that is participating in Parent Aware. Pathway I scholarships “follow the child” and are awarded to the family for up to 12 months.

Scholarship amounts are based on the Parent Aware rating level of the program you choose. Families interested in applying for a Pathway I scholarship should contact the Area Administrator serving their county.

Pathways II

Pathway II scholarships are awarded to families by an eligible Parent Aware Four-Star Rated program. Pathway II early childhood programs receive scholarship funds from the Minnesota Department of Education. These programs then use their funds to award scholarships to families whose children attend the Pathway II program. The scholarships must be used at the awarding Pathway II program. The funding stays with the program to support other children if your child leaves.

Pathways II and School Readiness scholarships are awarded to children and families residing in the Farmington School District with the greatest need, as determined by risk factor assessment. In addition, scholarships are awarded based on available funds, program openings, and on a first come, first serve basis.

If you choose to apply for a Pathways II or School Readiness scholarship, please know that you are responsible for the full tuition rate until the scholarship may be reviewed and approved. You are responsible for completing and submitting all required paperwork for any scholarship application.

School Readiness

School Readiness is a public school program available to Minnesota children, age 3 years to kindergarten enrollment who meet certain eligibility requirements. The purpose of a School Readiness program is to prepare children to enter kindergarten. The goal of School Readiness is to help preschoolers enter school with the skills and behaviors necessary to be successful in future learning.
